Step Wisely Slip, Trip & Fall Prevention (9am, CT)

Description: In the United States, 1 out of every 4 workplace injuries are due to slips, trips, and falls. Slips, trips, and falls also account for roughly 1 out of every 7 workplace fatalities. Join us as we talk about how to prevent slips, trips, and falls at work. This presentation was created by the Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust, an organization that has seen a significant decrease in these types of incidents since the creation of their Step Wisely program.

The County Employer Group (CEG) is committed to providing answers and assistance to our members through webinars, on-site consultations and presentations.

CEG Monthly Safety Moment: Alcohol Abuse in the Workplace

Description: In the United States, there are an estimated 14 million people who abuse alcohol or are alcoholics.  In North Dakota, it is estimated that 1 out of every 14 persons over the age of 12 have alcohol use disorder.  Being under the influence of alcohol on the job is not only a significant safety concern for that employee, but for their coworkers and members of the general public as well.  Alcohol abuse and misuse also present significant challenges to overall worker health and well-being.  Join us as we discuss the ramifications of alcohol at work, look at frequent signs of alcohol problems on the job, and explore ways to help combat this potential problem in your workplace.

NDACo Annual Conference

The NDACo Annual Conference is NDACo’s premier educational and networking event. Held every October, the conference is a two-day gathering of over 500 officials, guests and vendors from across the state. Conference activities include:
• Educational workshops, including ILG-credit qualifying classes
• Vendor displays in two indoor venues and an outdoor large-equipment display
• NDACo Board of Directors elections
• Discussion and voting on important legislative resolutions and initiatives
• Topical keynote speakers and special guests
• ILG awards and graduation
• Excellence in County Government Awards
• Presentation of scholarship winners
• Scheduled and informal opportunities to network with other county folks, partners, state officials and others.

All county officials are strongly urged to attend the NDACo Annual Conference & Expo. Many consider it essential to their ability to provide the best service to their constituents.

A special conference page and online registration will be made available approximately July 1.
