County Officials Academy

The County Officials Academy is held on election years during the legislative session.  It is designed to give new county officials an overview of county government, the duties associated with all the different offices in the courthouse, and an overview of what's going on at the capitol during the Legislative Session, including an opportunity to meet with state legislative representatives from their area.

It also serves as an excellent refresher course for experience county officials, many of whom return several times.

Attendees will receive FREE ILG training hours for attending the County Officials Academy.

The County Officials Academy is typically held the second Monday in March of odd-numbered years.

Human Resources Conference for Local Government

With much appreciated support from the Bremer Trust and ND Insurance Reserve Fund, the Human Resource Collaborative was created in 2008. The partnering agencies  are the ND Association of Counties, ND League of Cities, ND School Boards Association, ND Parks and Recreation Association and the ND Insurance Reserve Fund.

The HR Collaborative for Local Government (HRC) has built a structure for providing over 800 units of local government in North Dakota with a set of tools, resources and training on human resource management.  These tools were designed to increase the awareness and understanding of the importance of  human resource management for elected/appointed officials and employees, to offer an online tool to research HR questions (HR Reference Guide) and to provide on-going training/information on emerging HR issues.
