The North Dakota Association of Counties (NDACo) has awarded $2,000 scholarships to six students from around the state. Qualified candidates are children or grandchildren of North Dakota county officials or employees. Candidates must be entering or already engaged in undergraduate studies or pursuing technical post-secondary education. The students stood out for their work experience, academic goals, volunteer service, campus or school involvement, and honors and achievements.

The following exceptional students will be honored at the 2026 NDACo Annual Conference held in Bismarck in October.

Brooklyn Dockter, daughter of Karissa Dockter, Wells County Deputy Treasurer (NDSU-Freshman)

Kaeden Krieg, son of Kelli Krieg, Stark County Southwest Multi-County Correction Center Behavioral Health Director (U-Mary-Sophomore)

Krieg is the recipient of the Amy Svihovec Memorial Scholarship. Created in 2010, this scholarship honors the memory of Amy Svihovec, daughter of Linda Svihovec, former Auditor and Treasurer of McKenzie County, and is awarded to a scholarship recipient whose goals and achievements carry on Amy’s legacy.

Addie Robbins, daughter of Kimberly Robbins, LaMoure County Emergency Manager (DSU-Freshman)

Aubrey Rost, granddaughter of Robert Rost, Grand Forks County Commissioner (UND-Sophomore)

Claire Weber, daughter of Vanessa Weber, Towner County Legal Assistant (UND-Freshman)

Ava Zachmann, daughter of Carrie Zachmann, Golden Valley County Sheriff’s Office Deputy (UND-Freshman)

The NDACo Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 with contributions by county donors and Nationwide Retirement Solutions and continues to receive contributions from individual county employees, officials and corporate supporters.
