How do I sell - and get the right price for - my mineral rights in North Dakota?

The market for mineral rights is affected by your location, the daily oil markets, which can be quite erratic, and a host of other issues, so it’s difficult to know the going rates in a given area.

County officials cannot give advice regarding your specific values or recommend a real estate broker to help you, but with the help of online searches and recommendations of neighbors, you should be able to find a local real estate broker with experience in mineral rights. We cannot endorse any private firms, but you can find companies that specialize in listing or auctioning rights by doing an internet search with terms such as "mineral rights exchanges" or "mineral rights auctions" or even simply "how much are my mineral interests worth?"
